By State: Illinois

It’s been awhile since I’ve done a “Killer By State” post. This time around I picked Illinois. Once again I tried to pick those killers that some of you might not be familiar with yet.

Hubert Geralds Jr: Hubert was arrested in 1995 and charged with killing six prostitutes and drug addicts in Chicago’s South Side. The string of murders began in December 1994 and continued through mid-June 1995, when Geralds was arrested after his sister turned him in. The sister had found one victim’s decomposed body in a trash can near her home. He confessed to the killings, but claimed they were the results of disputes over drugs.

Ralph Harris: He is responsible for atleast 6 murders between 1992 and 1995. In 1992 alone he committed 4 murders. Most of the victims Harris allegedly murdered were older men. Harris robbed, raped and murdered to feed a drug habit, police said. In total Harris was charged with six murders, 13 armed robberies and six sexual assaults. At the time of his arrest he was only 23 years old.

Earl Neslon: He’s referred to as “The Gorilla Murderer.” This Bible quoting drifter killed mostly the landladies of the houses where he stayed. After killing them he would stuff their bodies under his bed before going to sleep. He is known to have committed twenty-two murders and was suspected of at least three more.

  1. Reading about the Gorilla Murderer reminded me of Bible John, a British serial killer that also quoted scripture. He killed 3 people in the 1960s and was never caught. They reopened the case not too long ago, but I don’t know what came of any new investigatins. Here is a link if you are interested:

  2. Hubert Geralds Jr. sounds like something based off that movie “Seven” with Morgan Freedman and Brad Pitt. The way the killer was potrayed was someone acting upon himself as to trying to make the world a better place by killing people with great sins. I’m “not” saying this Hubert guy was in the right. I just saying that he just reminded me of that twisted movie.
